Erin Appel, Clinical Supervisor

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Does it feel like there is a battle in your mind? Do negative self-talk, rumination, or worry get in the way of the life you want? Therapy can help you change your relationship with your mind and become better friends with yourself. That shift frees up emotional energy for what matters most. Now more than ever, we need tools to regulate our nervous systems so we can keep working toward a better world.

If previous therapy hasn’t brought you where you want to be and you’re looking for a goal-directed approach, Erin might be a good fit. She offers unstructured talk therapy as well as structured approaches grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. Her training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. She has also completed introductory training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and plans to begin IFS Level One training in summer 2026.

Erin works with adults (18+) of all genders. Her clinical interests include healthcare providers (medical, mental health, alternative medicine, and veterinary), members of the LGBTQIA+ community, artists and performers, teachers, people pleasers, caretakers, perfectionists, meditators, and those navigating spiritual or religious crises.

Alongside her therapy work, Erin serves as Clinical Supervisor at Twin Cities Therapy and Counseling. Since becoming a supervisor in 2017, she has focused on helping clinicians build skill, confidence, and sound clinical judgment. Strong supervision, in her view, strengthens individual therapists and improves the integrity of care across the practice.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys the arts, comedy, reading, nerdy podcasts, resisting fascism, and Broadway musicals.
