Kate Shields Stenzinger

Marriage and Family Therapist

I bring creativity and mindfulness into every session. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive space where both thinking and feeling are welcome. In this space, curiosity and exploration can lead to new ideas, helpful strategies, and stronger connections.

When working with young children, I use child-centered play therapy. This approach helps them navigate social, behavioral, and academic challenges in a safe and imaginative way.

With adults, I offer a grounded and compassionate approach. I support people facing burnout, career transitions, chronic illness or cancer, and changes in family life. Together, we untangle what’s holding you back and gain fresh perspective on long-held patterns that may no longer serve you.

Before returning to clinical practice, I spent 15 years in healthcare leadership. This background gives me a deeper understanding of complex systems, caregiving stress, and the emotional toll of high-responsibility roles.

In sessions, I often integrate creative tools and mindfulness practices. These approaches encourage reflection, growth, and imaginative problem-solving. My style is warm and collaborative. I believe that with the right support, you can build a solid foundation and grow in ways that feel both grounded and expansive.
