Do you feel you could use a new direction in your life? My relaxed style and curiosity about what makes a happy and healthy day, week, or year will help us to build the path for your own life that you’ve been hoping for. It’s easy to get off track with stresses and demands of daily responsibilities. Anxiety and depression can frustrate our best efforts. For men, it can be especially difficult to take time to evaluate where we are taking our life. I’m especially passionate about talking with men, young and old, about the unique demands of 2021. So many men don’t have a platform for all of the changes that are taking place: emotionally, financially, and culturally. I can be that platform.
Has your “I do” turned into “I don’t know if this is what I want”? Do you feel stuck? Do you feel lonely in your relationship? This isn’t what you imagined your future to be. Couples have unique issues and challenges. It’s hard to get on the same page. We can work together to make new agreements and define the relationship based off current realities.
You are not defined by your struggles, but rather how you meet those challenges. Our open and honest discussions about what you want and how to get there always bring up what we think we “should” be doing, versus what we really want. Working on ourselves becomes more like a relief and less like work as we improve our close relationships, our career, and our sense of self.
I have worked with teens for over 20 years, and have a special sense of purpose to help young people set their life up for success. With the challenge of Covid, many of the “usual” stressors of young adulthood have been exasperated. Being able to talk to a trusted outside adult can be such a confidence boost. Young adults don’t need to be anywhere near failing to attend therapy. Changing relationships, trying to fit in, expectations from school and parents are all great topics to jumpstart a lifelong comfort with reaching out to collaborate instead of doing it all alone.
I welcome individuals and couples of all ages who are interested in knowing themselves better. Issues you bring, large and small, are welcome. I am a father to three children, two who have graduated and one in high school. I have a passion for health and fitness, as well as playing guitar.
I have over 20 years of counseling experience, and have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Student Personnel from MSU, Mankato.
